Why did my spaghetti stick together?

I must admit, we don't have spaghetti very often but even when we have, I'm sure it hasn't stuck.

Tonight I used a quick cook one and it all stuck together in the colander.

Try adding a little olive oil to the water when cooking it. This should help.

Did you cook it too long? Sometimes when you do it (forgive me for forgetting the technical terms!!) goes back to a gloopy/sticky form!!

I always separate my spag with two forks for a couple of minutes after putting it in.

Olive oil (or any oil) is good to prevent sticking too.

I think you may have left it too long in the colander as the starch makes it stick together as it cools unless you toss it in a little olive oil.

Oh, thanks all, will try olive oil next time.

Bundle it was for the kids so doesn't bother me
