Will my toad in the hole be okay?

The oil wasn't heating quite as fast as I wanted so when I put the batter in there wasn't the satisfying hiss. Will it still work out okay and do I need to cook it for longer or the same as the recipe?

Any help would be great as the kids are starving!!

No - it will be flat as a pancake and soggy.

Seriously - I have no idea - can you peek in the oven when time is up and see how it looks.

Incidentally I make fab toad in the hole, but usually more by good luck than good management.

I am sure it will be delicious - it will cook with the heat of the oven - just maybe not rise as much as you would hope.

It was fine! Yay!. The kids mini ones did rise and ours didn't quite so much but it tasted delicious so it turned out okay in the end. Thanks Smile.

Glad you all enjoyed it. I love toad in the hole but see it as a winter dish (says she having just made and eaten a yummy chicken curry).
