DD is just not into sauces, it's warm (for once!) today so she's having bread, cold chicken, cucumber, tomato, crisps for lunch. All a bit dry but she's never really been up for butter, hates cheese inc. cream cheese, not fussed about mayo... would like to get a bit more fat and tastiness onto the plate. Am a bit of a foodie and would normally love a bit of lemony mayo or nice dressing etc on that meal but she really doesn't care! I normally do her salad veg with a bit of oil and vinegar but was in a hurry today so she's having it plain.

When did yr toddler get into sauces? She is 2.10yo.

Aside from ketchup? ... ermm.... never. And DS is now 11. :) He'll just about tolerate a little gravy on the plate, the fresh tomato sauce I stir pasta into is OK and custard is fine, obviously. But he's really not into sauces as a concept.

Could you get her involved in making them?

Houmous, tapenade, tzaziki and guacamole are all pretty easy to make.
