we seem to have small amounts of ice on the back wall inside our fridge.
can anyone tell me if this is normal as it is a fairly new fridge/freezer

It'll depend on what setting you have your fridge on. I get ice crystals where the condensation freezes on the back wall... but I run my fridge relatively cold.

Do you have a fridge thermometer? I think ice crystals are pretty normal once the internal temperature gets below 4 or 5C.
