Using muslin cloths in the kitchen

This may be a stupid question, but - are the muslin cloths you get for your baby the same type that you use for cooking?

I've seen a few recipes where you strain things using muslin cloths, and have a stack of 20 or so upstairs... are they the same thing?

Thanks!

Yes, I use mine (16 years old) for wine making.

I soak them in cold water straight after use then put them through a hot wash. They're still lovely and white Smile
