Hi, I am going to do some homebaking for a Macmillan Coffee morning which is in a few weeks time and was wondering if you could share your most precious best cake/biscuit/traybake recipes with me.

here is my dh's traybake recipe on his blog. Originally by his grandma but he has honed it over the years and I can testify that it is absolutely divine!!

Mars bar cake is a hit round these parts. Melt mars bars with butter (9 mars bars and about 100g butter, but there's no need for precision. It will look absolutely horrible until the last moment when the nougat actually melts and it stops looking like a disaster. Throw in rice krispies and mix. Spread over the bottom of your tray (line it first, or use a silicon tray). Melt some chocolate and pour all over the top. Refrigerate.

This Victoria Sponge by Jane Asher is amazing. Important you add the eggs slowly as she says. She also suggests weighing the eggs and adding the same weight of flour/butter/sugar, or if you don't have electric scales you cn use the amount in the recipe.

These scones are also great and very easy to make.

People think I am good at baking due to these recipes.

Suzywong's brownie recipe from here is divine too.

Can I ask how you're going to do it? As in, are you charging per cake or a suggested donation or entry fee? (I want to do one soon but am not sure what people do.)

This is very, very nice.
Old dears at church love this and it's gluten free. I make a glaze by melting ginger jam with a couple of tablespoons of water and spreading it over the top.
This also very nice.
The kids favourite is:
200gms butter
200gms marshmallows
200gm bag (wrapped weight) dairy toffes
rice crispies
200gms dark chocolate (or milk)

Melt butter, mallows and toffees together until all smooth and delicious. Stir in as many rice crispies as it will hold and still be well covered and sticky. Press into lined traybake tray and let cool a bit. Melt the chocolate and spread over. When set cut into little squares. I get 60 squares from a traybake.

almond slices "butterkuchen" (very popular in germany)

make a basic yeast dough:
500g plain flour
200ml milk
75g butter (unsalted)
100g sugar
1 tablespoon dried active yeast (important for the aroma)
1 drop vanilla extract
pinch of salt

let rise, then knead again and roll out on a tray.
cut 175g of butter into cubes and place onto the dough, sprinkle over 100g flaked almonds, sprinkle 100g sugar.

leave to rest for about 30 min.
bake at 175 for around 20 min or until golden.
