ARGH! Where would I have put the valve for the pressure cooker?!

Wasn't organised enough to use the slow cooker, forgot to use the main oven ... so stuck the chicken casserole all chopped up and prepared into the pressure cooker ready, turned over the lid to put it on AND THE VALVE'S MISSING!

Any guesses where I might have put it?!

Ooooh, a kitchen drawer that has all random odds and ends in (straws are often found in said drawers)?

GeorginaA · 28/11/2005 17:24

I've had it right out No luck... nor is it in the back of the cupboard the slow cooker is kept.

[lots of expletives deleted]

Didn't want to make this sodding casserole anyway.

Oh shove the casserole in the freezer and go to McDs.

snigger

LIZS · 28/11/2005 17:25

sorry , perhaps the cutlery drawer or the bottom of the washing up cutlery drainer/dishwasher basket ? We've lost the ours too and can't find any spares suppliers, but it still works lol ! Remionds me I suppsoe I'd better go and chuck a casserole together too.

Cadbury · 28/11/2005 17:26

It'll be in a mug on the shelf. The one that's covered in greasy dust (as most of mine are ?

GeorginaA · 28/11/2005 17:27

Soupy: no jest - seriously considering it. Going to bung the casserole in the oven and get the kids a mcd's I think.

BUGGER.

Oooh yes, the greasy mug is the other place here too

SoupDragon · 28/11/2005 17:28

Has it dropped off into the casserole?
Small pot that looks similar to Cadbury's mug but used to hold treacle toffee?

GeorginaA · 28/11/2005 17:30

I had a good rummage in the casserole but couldn't see it - can't think how it would have got in there anyway though!

I'm so cross - loads of gadgets/appliances have gone wrong/had to be replaced recently... why do these things happen just before Christmas, eh?!

You get the greasy mug/pot down to look in it, think "EW" and clean it, and then put it back up there to be neglected and gunky again... why do we keep the cup?????

GeorginaA · 28/11/2005 17:31

I have got a nasty suspicion that I haven't actually used the pressure cooker since the new kitchen was put in last February...

... so the damn valve could be ANYWHERE.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 28/11/2005 17:32

Can't you cook it in about half an hour on the hob though??

Cadbury · 28/11/2005 17:33

Best start taking down cupbpoards and digging up the flooring then!

GeorginaA · 28/11/2005 17:34

Dunno Soupy - I'm not that expertly culinary - I just know I can shove it into a choice of three cooking receptacles and each has its different time

Cadbury - don't know whether to send you a or a ... lol

SoupDragon · 28/11/2005 17:35

Speaking of "culinary expert" I can smell burning sausages... b*gger!

GeorginaA · 28/11/2005 17:36

lol

Glad to hear dinner is going well in Soupy Towers, too...

Sod it ... I fancy a McD's now myself ... I'll cook the casserole, stick it in the fridge and then that's dinner tomorrow sorted...

OP posts:
marthamoo · 28/11/2005 17:44

I sorted out my cutlery drawer today - all sorts of things were lurking in there (not your pressure cooker valve, though Georgina).

I'm scared of pressure cookers so I haven't got one - I always thought my Mum's was going to explde.

SoupDragon · 28/11/2005 17:49

And tomorrow you can pretend that you are an efficient domestic goddess for having sorted dinner in advance

False alarm with the sausages - just the smell of the, um, less-than-clean oven burning!

GeorginaA · 28/11/2005 18:07

Exactly Soupy!

(actually, marthamoo - I'm the same, the pressure cooker scares me ... but it is so convenient when you're running late ... when you have the valve of course!)
