Innocent smoothies safe for babies?

Does anyone know if it's safe to give a 10-month baby some innocent smoothie? I'm trying to slowly wean my DS off the breast (aiming for 1year) and replace the dropped feeds with water, cow's milk or juice. Trouble is he won't drink from a beaker, cup or bottle. The other day though I tried giving him a little bit of innocent smoothie and he was quite happy to drink that from a cup. Just wondering if it's safe to give him that a few times a day as I gradually drop the breastfeeding. Would appreciate your comments. Thanks!

Don't do it. They're packed with sugar, albeit natural sugar. Very calorie rich too.

I would think its safe, but I'd view it more like a thin fruit puree than a drink IYSWIM. Its probably not too good for teeth, being so sweet.

I can see its a tempting idea, to get him used to drinking from a cup, but it might backfire if he then won't drink water.

I understood that any fruit juice should be diluted = 1/10 : 9/10's water

Cos of teeth etc

They have 6 teaspoons of sugar per 420ml...that's more than a can of coke
