Slow cooker Gammon....covered or not?

planning on slow cooked gammon today (first time).

Do I need to submerge the meat completely?

One recipe says just 1 inch of water but surely the meat will dry out?

Thanks.

I just stick a tin of pineapple slices in with mine, and no it doesn't dry out, and it's yummy Grin

I know I'm a bit late to this, but for next time, I put mine in about an inch or two of apple juice. It doesn't dry out and is yummy!

I always put an inch or two of liquid and cover with foil until the last half an hour. It is so yummy and juicy, my mouth is watering right now! Might have to make some at the weekend!
