Frozen vegetable weight equivalent query

Hello - I've tried googling this but to no avail. Its probably a stupid question but... is 500 grams of spinach equivalent to 500 grams of frozen spinach.

If not, then how do I adjust this for a recipe that requires 500 grams normal spinach (because I only have frozen)?

Thanks in advance

Some of the weight of frozen spinach is water (ice). If you defrost it and drain off any excess water it's then about the same as fresh, gramme for gramme.

So if I defrost 550g that should cover it I think. It would be better to have a bit more than a bit less....

Thanks for you reply!
