tea for play dates

I need to expand my quick and easy recipes for tea when dd has her friends over for play dates. We usually do some sort of pasta. It just needs to be simple to prepare really.

Can you make stuff ahead? DD had a playdate the yesterday and I did a shepherds pie - I prepped it earlier, kept it in the fridge and then took it out about an hour before and then cooked it for 30 minutes. They had thirds!

Other than that, popular options are:

• pasta
• pizza
• sausages and rolls and veg
• spaghetti and meatballs

thanks, being organised would be helpful. I work so freezer options are a good idea.

I tend to do a picnic tea with cheese/mini sausages/bread/tomatoes/cucumber etc and leave them to help themselves.
