im making jamies pork and cider stew with dumplings tomorrow.

In his recipe it says to fry all the ingredients first before oooking on the hob or in oven (am doing neithet) so o i need to fry meat and veg before it goes in the slow oooker?

Secondly how long do i need to cook it for?

Finally the dumplings are supposed to be cooked on top of the stew for 30 minutes. Would this be the same in the slow cooker?

TIA Smile

Cook what for two hours? The stew? Surely it gets left on all day, if i wanted to cook it for 2 hours i could do it in the oven.
It has a high, med or low setting, ive borrowed it from a neighbour, i dont have one

I'd put it on low first thing in the morning and eat early evening - Yum! otherwise high for a couple of hours then low.

They must all be different. I managed to find a manual online which says that the optimum cooking thing is on medium for 5.5-7.5 hours, for tjat slow cooker obviously
