Can rice be cooked in a microwave?

And if so, for how long, what power, how much water to use etc etc? Assume boring old white rice

Yes, as I discovered on here a few weeks back. It was something like 1.5 cups rice, 3 cups of water, 13 minutes (covered with pierced cling film)

The thread said to look at the back of the packet, and I genuinely hadn't thought of looking there before! :)

Blush I can't believe I didn't think of that Flisspaps. Microwave instructions are actually above the hob ones. Oh dear, think I need a lie down ...

we have a microwave steamer (a tub with a lid, and an inner bowl that has holes in the bottom) Only cost a tenner from Asda I think and it's fab!

Rice in the bowl, in the tub. Cover with boiling water. Full Power 5mins, stir, full power 3 mins. Done
