Which will make the better rice-pudding?

Basmati, arborio or sushi rice? I don't have any pudding rice or rice flakes.

Arborio! Though I bet sushi rice could be interesting too.

Proper pudding rice as packed in supermarket - there is also flaked which goes a nice flavour.

My dad used to make the most marvellous rice pudding using leftover cooked rice of the ordinary, everyday variety. Simmered with a piece of orange peel, one cardamom pod and one clove, and served with a knob of butter and a teaspoon of brown sugar. Heavenly.
