ideas for one yr olds birthday party

Hi. I'm looking for ideas for fun party food for DDs first birthday party. Particularly cakes we could make with her.

who will be there; mostly adults or will there be lots of other children?

Make everything in advance!!!!

Platters of sandwiches and fruit
Cupcakes with coloured icing
Bowls of grapes, raisins and crisps

My friend did a BBQ for her LO and it was a disaster - took too long and no could control their kids around the BBQ.

Just keep it simple, lay out the picnic rugs and enjoy yourself.
