Spicy ratatouille recipe?

Hi, ages ago I had a lovely spicy ratatouille and have been craving it ever since. I have loads of ratatouille recipes but they all seem a little bland-does anyone have any easy ideas for spicing it up? Thanks

There is a Spanish version of ratatouille (pisto manchego) which has the same basic ingredients (onion/garlic/courgette/pepper/aubergine/tomato) but includes smoked paprika (hot and sweet versions).

It's not hot spicy but has a really nice warm flavour. Alternatively add a little cumin?

Thanks tiokiko-that's what i did in the end but it still wan't quite right. I think I've probably built it up in my mind!
