I am making bread pudding and have eight stale scones. Do you think I can add them in or will it make the bread pudding strange?

Thanks

No, it should be lovely. Just make sure they're sliced so the custard will distribute evenly. Smile

Did it work? I make scones a lot.

Hi, yes it was fab. I used a mixture of scones and stale bread (about half and half) and it was really good (and cheap since I would have thrown them to the birds otherwise!)

if you use stale scones you won't get the same rise. I'd stick to bread!

It doesn't rise lovecooking its bread pudding. It was great with a combination of bread and stale scones.
