boiling fruit - do i still need to do it?

my ds is 6 and half months old. when i started weaning the hv said to boil all fruit (except bananas). just wondering if i can stop boiling now and just mash?

I think by 6 months I used to finely grate raw fruit (like apples) instead of cooking them. It makes them slightly harder to digest so keep an eye on the nappies!

thanks! another ,probably, silly question. should i skin the fruit b4 grating or is it ok? im thinking i should maybe still skin it first.
