My dh like pate( I cannot stand it but I wondered if it was ok to give it to our 2yr old daughter. If it is ok which ones are ok or is there a difference in this. Would just love to see if she liked it or not.

I do - hadn't considered that I shouldn't. My ds aged 2 loves it.

Once they are 12 months you can give practically ANYTHING (except whole nuts, and prob best not raw egg!)

Marina · 14/11/2005 09:13

I hope so, dd, who is two, loves it as an occasional treat.

PiccadillyCircus · 14/11/2005 09:15

I'm sure DS (nearly 2) has had it a few times.

expatinscotland · 14/11/2005 09:28

No. Yucky. I don't like it myself, nor does DH, so it's never in our home.

Carameli · 14/11/2005 09:35

thnaks guys, I had never really thought about it before to be honest as dh has not bought any for ages, so it never occured to me.
But he got some yesterday so I thought I had better check, just in case I shouldn't.
Then if she likes it might be nice to get her to have it every so often.

a lot of brands have egg in so if you're avoiding egg watch out for that
dd loves it though esp smoked salmon... she's 3 and has had it on and off for ages.

Carameli · 14/11/2005 09:54

piffle, is it raw egg? Although i would rather know if the eggs she is eating are good ones and not from battery hens so will keep a look out for that. thanks...

It should say if it contains raw egg and will have a health warning
