Eating around Marylebone High Street

Off to London in a couple of days and fancy trying somewhere new. I'm currently tempted by lunch at Woodlands Indian Restaurant or by afternoon tea at Cafe Luc - has anybody been to either of these?

Or is there anywhere else you'd recommend?

Thank you. :)

La Fromagerie on Moxon Street, obvs.

I have been to woodlands and wasn't that impressed with their dosas - not crispy enough for my taste. There are so many other places to eat in the area, I would try somewhere else.

Thanks Sis - where though?!

Beanlet - sounds fab but I will be with cheese-hating dd1...

They don't just do cheese!

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 28/05/2011 19:59

I've looked at the menu and dd1 would struggle - she's a vegetarian cheese-hater!

Anybody else, please?

Yum!

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 31/05/2011 11:31

Thanks Norks - I'd already looked at that one online but it seems quite expensive. I need enough left over for Selfridges shopping too! :)

We'll probably end up at Hoummus Brothers again because dd1 loves it so much!

Does she like Thai food? There's a Busaba to the side of Selfridges that is fine for a quick lunch. Otherwise there's a Carluccio's / Ping Pong / Pizza Express / Lebanese etc etc in or around St Christopher's Place.

sis · 31/05/2011 13:07

Sorry, probably too late now but there is Paul and Patisserie Valerie.

I was going to suggest a lovely place called Eat and Two Veg which is a really good veggie restaurant but just googled it to give you more info and found out it's closed Sad It was one of my favourite restaurants! Boo. Sorry!

sis · 31/05/2011 13:22

There is also eat and two veg - which is veggie - at the north end of Marlebone High Street

sis · 31/05/2011 13:23

oops xcrossed with cheeser!

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 31/05/2011 16:03

I think Cafe Luc is where Eat And Two Veg used to be.

Thai sounds good; pastries sound good; Lebanese sounds even better!

The Lebanese place (sorry, forgotten the name but it's pretty obvious, to the left of Jigsaw - Safra maybe?) is good but it gets busy so get there early. It's a 1 min walk from Selfridges, 30 sec walk from Oxford St (but you'd never know it).

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 31/05/2011 20:33

Thanks.

We now have lots of choice, so can see what we fancy when we're there.

Now....what to buy in Selfridges? :)
