I am no baker - please can you link an easy scones recipe.

I have promised (why?) work colleagues a cream tea tomorrow.

And, shall I bake the scones last thing tonight or should I get up tomorrow so they are fresh?

Thank you Smile

nigella's in domestic goddess are AMAZING!! It's the cream of tartar that does it (as well as rolling the dough out nice and thickly). I'm afraid I don't have the book to hand right now but hopefully someone will come along that does. I personally would make them on the day.

I don't have a recipe to hand but the best advice I was given re baking scones is to roll the dough out as thick as a matchbox.

I found the recipe online. i don't recall using trex. in fact i know i didn't, so i guess i used lard instead.

Thanks - I actually got off my arse and found the recipe in the Nige Kitchen book.

Strange ingredients - Trex, buttermilk and cream of tartar.

Anyway they are in the oven now Smile

Thanks
