Anyone got a simple recipe for leeks in cheese sauce? I've looked online but only getting ones with lots of spices in etc.

Thanks

get some leeks. wrap in ham if you fancy.

put in oven dish and cover with cheese sauce. grate cheese on top.

there.

or did you need the recipe for cheese sauce too? the only spice you need is mustard.

cheese sauce too please.

I'm not a very good cook but am attempting a roast tomorrow and really like leeks in cheese when i've eaten them before.

Thanks

ok.

melt a big blob of butter (for 4 leeks - I'd say about 30g, a bit less if you want to make it low fat)

then add 1 large desert spoon or so of plain flour - it should still be a bit runny (if not, add more butter).

let it cook for a minute, then add a large ish splash of milk (about half a cup) and stir - when the milk warms up it'll thicken fast and be very think so you need to stir continuously.

then do that again (add less milk this time). keep doing it until the consistency is a little bit thicker than cheese sauce should be (it'll thin out a bit when you cook it with the leeks).

then add a big pile of grated cheese. add lots of cheese, and different types if you have them. also add a half a teaspoon to a teaspoon of mustard.

cook up for a few mins to melt the cheese in, then pour over the leeks and bung in oven.

...or, easier version: get some packet white sauce /bechamel sauce (they are the same) and add lots of cheese. do not buy packet cheese sauce!

Sounds wonderful. Thank you very much
