got some Tesco stir fry veg mix which said use by 16th- 2 days ago. It looks okay but I seem to think that bean sprouts are one ting you should only eat fresh. it's mainly bean sprouts, cabbage and sweet corn.

been in fridge for about 6 days.

Is that right or will be okay?

cant think of anything thats going to be bad- we used to live fine before Best before dates. Dont throw anything out just cos the date sayes so your just increasing profits for the supermarkets. Your nose is always the best indicator.

I couldn't agree more about BBD- i am mid 50s and they never existed for years!

I just seem to remember something about bean sprouts..........

It was a salmonella risk from uncooked beansprouts. Cook them properly (assuming they're not limp and slimely) and they should be OK.

It'll be absolutely fine, enjoy it!

Beansprouts are the freshest thing in that pack because they're still alive. All the contents of the stir-fry will have been rinsed with a mild sterilising agent. Same applies to any prepared veg/salad type food.
