Had some meatballs delivered with last weeks shopping which lurked forgotten at the back of teh fridge - use by date is 11th May - would you chance it?

A week out of date? Not a chance. A day, maybe, if it looks/smells alright, but after a week it won't. I wouldn't even open them, it'll stink out the kitchen.

Hmmm...that is pretty conclusive - I am a bit cavalier about dates, but this was worrying even me. Have chucked them and thank you all for saving me (and the rest of the family) from myself.

I wouldn't no. If they are full of preservatives it might be ok.
