Feeding Baby Food On The Go

I have just started feeding my 6 month old solids and am finding it is all a bit of a drama when we are out and about. Are there any gadgets anyone has found to be good - I thinking of bowls with different sections and lids, ways of warming food a bit, tiny cool bags and so on.
All tips greatly appreciated

I didn't bother and just gave bf instead as it was too much effort. It was only from around 11 months that DS really needed a meal rather than just a bf.

I do it a lot now (he's 16 months), mostly in the pushchair. I find a pelican bib is good to stop him spilling everything down his lap, along with a muslin over his lap / bumper bar.

Pre-loaded spoons with sandwich filling + separate pieces of bread work better for us than sandwiches, but I doubt he could have managed it at 6 months. (We did BLW.)

I just use normal tupperware - lots of small pots. Mind you, DH would have lynched me if I'd bought any more than we already had. Blush

take a banana and a yoghurt - mash banana when required and you are good to go.

p.s. if I was going out and ds was needing feeding within the hour I would heat the food to piping hot before I left the house and then by the time it was time for ds to eat it had cooled down to eating temperature.

Cucumber sticks.

Grab yourself a sandwich and give DC a chunk of it to gum.
Couple of breadsticks.
Rice cake chopped into strips.
Banana - break in half when it's dinnertime and let DC chomp on it.

Use a freezer bag and lob it in your handbag - job's a good'un.

i had this same question a few months ago - now ds gets a meal if we are eating out and he loves it! Grin

I used Tupperware and if going to a friend/family, took a small microwaveable bowl - this was when DS was 12months plus.

Before that I used ready made pouches and if I was eating would get something he could eat too and mash it (didn't purée as started at 6 months).
