flapjacks with cornflakes and dr. apricots? Recipe?

Ages ago someone brought yummy flapjacks to a party which had cornflakes, dried apricots and possibly raisins in them. They were scrummy but when I asked how she made them she muttered something vague and unhelpful about just making them up with a bit of this and that.

I would love to make some but haven't made flapjacks for YEARS. Am quite picky - I like them to be thin and relatively soft, definitely not too sugary sweet - I like a balance of saltiness from butter and syrup sweetness - I think that's why the cornflakes worked, they add a bit of saltiness. And just a bit of chopped dried fruit.

Any recipes you can share with me?

Try googling Annabel Karmel flapjacks. She has q few recipes with dried apricots and often rice krispies too. You could experiment with cornflakes instead. I have made a variety of her flapjacks and people always like them. The rice krispies make them lighter not dense like bricks.
