DS's boring diet

My ds's (18mnths & 3) eat all the "right things" ie, lamb chops, chicken, veg etc but I am sick of dishing up meat and pots and 2 veg. I feel like a cook out of the 50's! When ever I dish up something different (for them) like pasta, or even an omlette it just goes in the bin

While I know they are getting all they need its just so dull. Tonight I am havinga variation on the theme (shepherds pie) and that will porbably be rejected as it doesn't follow the "theme" - help a desperate mumsnetter!

Why not introduce new stuff gradually ? add baby pasta to your pots for ex, or rice. Same with omelette, cut it in small pieces and add it to your veg, or if they eat rice, make fried rice, very easy, quick and delicious. Gradually increase the amount.
And tomato sauce is great for that, it covers the tastes of whatever you mix it with. And usually kids love it. Why not an omelette with a little sauce over it ?
Having said that, I'm sure a lot of mums would envy you, your darlings seem to be have a very good diet

the shepherds pie went in the bin

Good idea about mixing it with things they do liek though. ds2 would eat tom sauce by its self if he got the chance!
