My tip is this:

add dry ingredients first (flour yeast etc

Put lid on

Switch on

add water slowly when its going

it should then quickly form into a dough ball.

I have to say though that my FP is not keen on kneading dough- it has been lnown to smell of burning plastic and emit smoke but work perfectly well a few days later.

Good luck

you don't need a recipe for pastry, it's just one part fat to two parts plain flour with a splash of cold water to help it come together.

the fat can be butter, lard or cooking margarine. All butter is the yummiest.

you can make it richer with an egg yolk or two (and less water) or sweeten it with a bit of icing sugar or flavour it with herbs or citrus zest.

first bung the flour and fat in together for the rubbing-in stage, until it looks like breadcrumbs. Then add the yolks/water and whizz it again till it comes together in a ball.

then ideally, rest for at least 30 mins in the fridge before rolling out.
(the pastry that is, not you. Unless it is a very hot day.)
