Supplements for DC. Which do you use?

I'm thinking of starting DD (nearly 3 years) on the Animal Parade multi-vitamins.

Are there any brands that you'd recommend? Is there anything that you're particularly keen to supplement, e.g. iron, vitamin D etc?

We're vegan, BTW, so I won't be giving her any fish oil etc, etc.

Thanks. :)

If you give a good kelp supplement then you're covering every angle 'cos it contains ALL the Bvits. naturally. It's B12 that vegans should have should have isn't it? iI'm a demi vegan so eat eggs but i still take kelp and it's good.

Thanks ppeatfruit. We eat dried kelp a fair bit and also a stock which has iodine, so I think that's covered. We eat yeast extract for B12. I suppose I like the idea of a supplement just to make sure really, if you know what I mean. Thanks for the tip though.

I've just started my 21month old and 3yr old on wellkid liquid. it's got flaxseed oil and malt in, not sure if o.k for vegetarian but i think so? i wanted the minerals, not just a few vitamins and i get the wellwoman and wellman capsules so am happy with the brand. they're going through a fussy eating stage so i went for the one with the biggest list of ingredients i could find!

IMO starflower or borage oil is v.good for all the omega 3s that a lot people are short of .Of course most vegans are more aware of their diet; eating organic means you get good food value altho in supermkts stuff is not as fresh as it should be.

Another vote for flaxseed oil here. Or hemp, whichever's easiest for you... for the omega 3. Also yeast extract/nutritional yeast, and perhaps a yeast derived iron supplement. Depends how their diet is really.
