low GI breakfast and snack ideas

I have been advised to eat a low GI diet, I'm really struggling with breakfasts and snacks
I think, I could of got this completely wrong but nuts, seeds, dried fruits are a good option snack wise and oat cereals with fruit are a good breakfast? I do like cereal so help here would be great.
Does anyone know what's best?
Should I limit dairy?

Any ideas for more low GI snacks/ cereal would be greatly appreciated!

For low GI you want to avoid sugar and any processed carbs (white bread, suagrly cereals etc.) The ultimate low GI breakfast is Porridge (although I apprecaite the weather isn't exactly porridge weather right now). Whole meal toast with marmite (even cruncy eant butter in moderation) but stay of the sweet spreads. Unsweetened granoa and mueslis. Yogurt and fruit. Wholemeal bagel (food Doctor do some good ones). And make some oaty breakfast bars without too much sugar... If you need to sweeten things get some Fructose which is as sweet as sugar but lower GI and better than sweeteners... Good luck.

Thank you for your very helpful and informative post :)
I have a couple of questions: yogurt- are low fat flavoured ones a no go?
Would cinnamon and raisin bagel be good?
Will get fructose.
Is oat based cereal good enough? Oatabix?
