Was in Sainsburys the other day and saw a huge turkey leg for £1.53 Shock Bought it because of the low price, but didn't know what to do with it as we never eat turkey. Just stuck it in the freezer.

Anyway, we roasted it this afternoon and made a dinner and it was lovely Grin Even the dcs ate it and said they thought it was chicken. It fed four of us.

i cant afford to be fussy over meat as we are broke

this weekend i went to a market and there was this big meat van thing and i got so much meat for 60 quid - you wouldnt believe it !

Was it Namibian Goat Meat? Grin

I ask this because one day dh was out at our local market and he happened to pass by the rear of the cheap meat van and there was a cardboard box there stamped with 'Namibia' on it. I joked that they don't have cows or sheep in Namibia and that is was probably goat meat. He took this on board and it's been a joke ever since Grin

Don't laugh, Goat is delicious. It is a gamier version of Lamb.
