Hi Everyone

I'm cooking this recipe www.deliaonline.com/recipes/cuisine/asian/chinese/hung-shao-pork-waitrose.html at the weekend and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what to put after it?

I'm going to be at a friend's house so a dessert that's easily put together and easily transportable without refrigeration for 3-4 hours would be ideal :-)

Thanks

if its not going to be in the fridge how about something cakey? like brownies?

Hongshao pork is delicious but you can feel a bit greasy afterwards because of the fat on the cubed pork belly, so I'd do something lighter for pudding like a fruit salad. Even better would be ice cream or sorbet but you mention the refrigeration issue - perhaps your friend could pick it up and put in her freezer so you didn't have to transport from yours? You could serve with berries.

My most successful summer dessert ever was sliced peaches dropped into a glass of dessert wine - that could be because everyone was smashed though...!

Hi Guys

Thanks for the suggestions - hmm, could maybe meld the 2 and do a fruit salad and then mini-brownies with coffee. Now there's a thought..........

Mmm that sounds lovely - easy to make in advance and easy to serve, to minimise stress and maximise time for Wine with friends!

grilled pineapple is really nice-you could prep it and grill there. I put some maple syrup and lemon juice over but you can just use brown sugar. Serve with shortbread biscuits and ice cream
