I have loads of limes in the fridge and nothing left for the kids to drink. How would I turn limes into lime-aide? I guess limes sugar and water but would anyone hazard a guess at quanitities??

I have a glut of lemons every year and make this recipe for Lemon Squash - add some sparking water and it's delicious lemonade. Haven't made it with limes, but I imagine the outcome is the same. For the amounts below I would use about 10 limes.

Lemon Squash

3 large lemons or if they are small, smaller ones to suit!
3 lbs sugar
4 pints water
2 oz citric acid

Cut away out peel of lemons sparingly without pith and liquidise with half the water on top speed for about a minute.

Pour into saucepan with remaining water and bring to boil. Add juice from the lemons with the sugar and citric acid and stir till dissolved and then pour into bottles - it doesn't keep indefinitely and I have never had a problem with it but I do keep it in the fridge.

Thankyou!
I have just tried 4 cups water, 1/2 cup sugar and juice of 2 limes.
It was nice not very limy though. Would be nice with some sparkling water!

YOu need the citric acid - play around to get the flavour that suits - that's what I did and that's the above!
