green satsumas..... wtf?

got our veg box today which contained green satsumas. listed as green satsumas too..

dp just tried one and they are SO sour! are we suppposed to ripen them? i thought they were just some weird green variety of satsuma...

ooh...no help but they are coming in our veg box on Friday - thought that they were just a variety of satsuma now don't know what to do with them - will wait and see if anyone else has some advice!

just done a google on it and can't find any info - the abel and cole website doesn't help either!!

they shouldn't be sour. They are actually rather sweet. The reason that they are green is that the weather wasn't cold enough to turn them orange. We had them last week. Absolutely gorgeous!

seriously i spat it out it was so nasty (and i never spit things out!)

maybe i will try another one and see if they're all the same!

We had them in our box too and they were not sour. Perhaps you were just unlucky?

dp just boiled one in sugar and it was still sour! lol
