Trying to do a Sainsbo's order and am so bored of it all that I could eat my own arm instead. Any ideas?

:)

Individually, we're not THAT fussy but once you add all our fussiness together, tis a blardy pain.

Thanks for all efforts so far, in the face of such pains!

Sainsburys do nice veggie patty things in cheese and spring onion or spicy bean flavour [lazy mare emoticon] There's actually an offer on them I think. Add veg and potatoes/salad and roll/vegis mixed with rice to make a meal.

leek and butternut squash canneloni I've tried it and it's gorgeous.
slow cooker falafel but it can be cooked in the oven.

deepfried courgettes with hummus

collision · 16/04/2011 18:01

courgette and herb risotto

AliceWorld · 16/04/2011 18:01

refried beans
peppers
courgettes
onions
tortillas

i then bake in the oven with satanic tomato sauce and evil cheese on top.

Sainsbo do a 3 for £5 thing in the summer section and we had a meze of falafel, a chickpea dip and mixed olives the other night. Served with salad and bread it was really good.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 18:03

Leek and bns thing looks fabbo - I fancy Simon Rimmer a bit too. :)

Love baked tortilla-y things and I just leave the cheese of dd1's bit and the tomato off my bit!

Ahem - you said no cheese!

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 18:08

Don't go - you are doing a fantastic job as my personal food shopper.

I have already added -

asparagus risotto
something with butternut squash (will prob stuff it)
Greek salad for me - sod the rest of em!
Sausage and mash

Now - can somebody tell me why a tin of chickpeas appears to be a pound on the Sainsbo's site at the moment?

£1!!!!!!!!! Shocking! Am not even being sarcastic!!

Minestrone soup is good

Do you like soups?

Jacket potato and beans

Beanburgers and chips

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 18:12

Love soups but not minestrone due to dreaded tomatoes - and it needs to be a none-blended one as I killed my blender.

Yes to jacket potatoes but no to baked beans - gah.

You are right!

Go with cannellini beans at 43p per can!!

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 18:13

But I like chickpeas better! :)

Do you eat eg curry sauce that has tomatoes in it?

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 18:24

We all love curry. If it HAS to have tomatoes, I tend to use about half a tub of passata. It's the lumps I can't stand, rather than the flavour.

Ah. So chickpea and spinach curry with homemade naan- madhur jaffrey does a good recipe.

I found this that looks interesting and this that you could have if you swap the feta for something like lancashire, and leave it out of you DD's portion.

EvenLessNarkyPuffin · 16/04/2011 18:37

Also for a morrocan ish dish, fry (roughly chopped) onion and garlic with garam masala and a little cinnamon, add (in large chunks) courgette, carrot, aubergine and sweet potato. Add passata and veg stock, a generous sprinkle of chopped coriander and cover and cook until veg is soft and liquid is reduced. Add preserved lemons (peel, lemon zest if you don't have them in) and black olives (except for your DP), stir in more chopped coriander and serve with couscous with flaked almond and replumped dried apricot chopped through it.

EvenLessNarkyPuffin · 16/04/2011 18:39

Oops. Ignore the soup until your blender is better.

NettoSuperstar · 16/04/2011 18:43

Do you like dahl?
this one is really good
You can't go wrong with Delia.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 18:55

Thanks all. I think I'm sorted for at least the next fortnight now. :)
