Foolproof cookie recipe needed ???

I`m getting roped in to make some cookies for my nieces party. I have the cutters, I need a reliable recipe any tips for decorating them would be great.

It is princess theme so shoes, crown and hearts.

I have made these in the past and they were lovely - they were chocolate rather than just plain butter/sugar, and roll-out so you can stamp your hearts and crowns out: smittenkitchen.com/2008/04/brownie-roll-out-cookies/

thank you for those links off to buy the ingredients for a cook up tomorrow. I bought some nice cello bags and ribbon.. so fingers crossed
