I`m getting roped in to make some cookies for my nieces party. I have the cutters, I need a reliable recipe any tips for decorating them would be great.

It is princess theme so shoes, crown and hearts.

I have made these in the past and they were lovely - they were chocolate rather than just plain butter/sugar, and roll-out so you can stamp your hearts and crowns out: smittenkitchen.com/2008/04/brownie-roll-out-cookies/

I made them into ice-cream sandwiches instead of decorating them though - have never decorated cookies but imagine that the tips here would be quite useful: www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/icedbiscuits_3054
