How to make a "Scoop" cake?? HELP PLEASE!

DS is 3 the day after tomorrow and is desperate to have a "Scoop" from Bob The Builder cake! I've tried to get one in all the major supermarkets, but no luck. I'm pretty rubbish at cakes, but willing to give it a go. However, I just can't think where or how to start. Any great bakers out there to give me some advice? Many thanks.

make a cake, cover it with ready rolled fondant icing. find the picture you want and draw/trace it onto a piece of paper. put paper on top of cake and go over lines with a sharp knife so it dents the icing underneath. using a new paintbrush, paint food colouring onto the icing. hey presto!

Make a big square one (or two), cut and sandwich with buttercream as normal.
Draw a simple Scoop on paper and use this as a template to cut out the square cake(s)
Ice with (shop bought) yellow fondant
Add black/white details with a tube of writing icing.

Or make an ordinary shaped one, ice in a suitable background colour and either (1) cut aScoop out of yellow fondant etc as below or (2) buy a small Scoop plus other BtT toys and stick them on top.

BtT was meant to be BtB ie Bob the Builder!

When ds2 was 3 I made a large white cake, used grey fondant icing to make a road right across the middle, then stuck little BtB toys on it to create a worksite. I think I got some orange/white cone candles from somewhere too. Ds2 was thrilled.

If you have an Asda near you, they can make a cake with a photo of your choice on it. You might have a photo you'd like on it of DS and a BTB toy?

Making a cake sounds much nicer though

OR
at a local cake shop near me (edinburgh) you can get any photo/picture put on a cake (f* knows how they do it)
maybe phone cake shops and ask if any do that?
