help me please!

i'm hosting an Easter dinner for friends/family who are mixed faith... christian and jewish.

i need to cook a three course meal that is kosher and traditional english food. can anyone offer any ideas? was thinking a soup for starter, but stuck after that.

i live in a very rural area, so no specialist food stockists anywhere near... just to make matters more complicated!

TIA

Can you get hold of a copy of Nigella's Feast? There are some Easter/Jewish ideas in there.

Would also second Nigella's feast. Her apple/ almond cake (which is kosher) is delicious and really easy. You could serve with cream for the non-kosher element. Basically just ground almonds, eggs, sugar and apples.

Which is which? You or your friends Christian/Jewish?You obviously know not to mix meat and dairy in the same meal in Jewish cookery. Jewish friends must be liberal, otherwise they would not eat at a non kosher home. A vegetable soup for starters is a good idea, followed by lamb, chicken or beef and for dessert a platter of fresh fruits and nuts. All fine for the other guests.

thanks for the tip for nigella's feast! the apple and almond cake sounds amazing. i'll go grab a copy from the library.

friends are observing sephardic traditions for passover. i'm atheist and a vegetarian (!) and my other guests are christian.

I will happily cook lamb though... roasted with rosemary, with veggies?
