Have you got a waffle maker and would you recommend it?

I'm dying for one, but do they work/ Electric, versus old fashioned iron... And can I just use normal pancake recipe?

Help - I need waffles!

I've got an electric one that we bought in France. Nice waffles, but hardly ever use it - would be more likely to get the frying pan out and make scotch pancakes instead. You need a thicker batter than for pancakes.

Thanks Lily. We do pancackes and drop scones quite often, just fancying the depth of the waffle and to get DS to try them. Anything to broaden his limited intake and make him feel adventurous.
