Converting a cake (banana bread) into a cookie recipe

I have a v easy banana bread recipe which I have been trying and failing to bake as cookies. Is there a general trick to conversion?
Have tried spreading it out thinly but it was just v dry and also tried leaving out raising agent but it was v flat but not chewy like a cookie.
Any suggestions? Should I add more banana or golden syrup or something. I am a bit of a lentil weaver when it comes to cakes and so normally omit sugar from recipe (and use wholemeal bread), is this why it isn't working?

FWIW here is my recipe: it does work well for a loaf, but that's not what I want any more
3/4cup sugar, 3 large mashed bananas, 3/4 cup veg oil & two eggs mixed.
Stir in: 2 cups SR flour, 1/2 cup chopped nuts, 1tsp bicarb of soda, 2 tsp vanilla, 1/2tsp baking powder, 1/2tsp salt.
Pour into lined loaf pan, bake for 60 minutes at gas 6

Thank you!

Not sure about this

But for a start, I would just only use one egg and swap the oil for butter. Maybe use half the amount of baking powder. There definitely needs to be some sugar too, about 75-90g of soft brown sugar I'd think.

I still don't have much faith in it.

I would search for a banana cookie recipe Grin

Rather than spreading thin etc, dollop a tablespoon of the mixture onto baking sheet and gentle press the top with 2 fingers. bake for 12-15 mins.

Brilliant! Thanks Schroeder (especially for respecting lentilness) and teacups! Have just binned last experimental batch after DD started crying when I offered her a piece. Will have another go this weekend
