Shelf to glass....how long?

Inspired by a random thought on another thread.

I've heard that in Australia the average time from buying off supermarket shelf to consumption is 20 minutes.

So what's yours?

Chez nous, it varies between 4 weeks to years!

So it was just me then!
Tonight we had a bottle of Spanish wine - rather nice but not my area of knowledge - 4 weeks and 1 day houseroom.

A week, never usually longer than that.

Between 2-3 hours and months (maybe years).

Sometimes I just fancy a particular wine but have run out, so will dash to the supermarket to get it in the afternoon and then drink it in the evening.
