I'm at work, have left it to the last minute, need Nigella or one of you to help with lunch tomorrow. Nothing fancy but something nice and different for visiting gals and kids.

Work right near M&S thank the lord so can shop at lunchtime for ingredients.

Ready, go....

oh come on now, give us a bit more to go on

how old are kids, do you want to cook or merely assemble, any dietary requirements to watch out for and how many courses?

KBear · 27/10/2005 10:09

suzy - sorry for lack of details am sneaking on whilst pretending to work here !

I want something simple, but interesting. The kids are all good eaters and no dietary needs other than "FEED ME"!

Buffet-ish perhaps rather than a cooked meal.

Mind gone blank and panicking and don't want to resort to cheese on toast!

Two courses.

I thank you.

Chicken Casesar salad

get cooked roast chicken, Cos lettuce, casesar dressing and croutons from M&S, do some boiled eggs and quarter them as well, and then a cheesecake for afterwards

but it's Autumn there isn't it, in which case do really good sausages that you just cook in the oven in the morning while you are getting ready for work then nice seeded rolls, a relish or two and some potato salad with very fancy icecream and wafer biscuits for afters

that would be cold sausage sandwiches/rolls btw

KBear · 27/10/2005 10:20

See, it's simple when someone else does my thinking for me!

Thanks - that sounds great. I would invite you but you will live miles away from London!

I can't get a decent sausage here, it's really rather wearing

enjoy

LOL - surely there is somewhere that can oblige?
