Have just arrived with my delivery.

Deepest deepest joy.

Can't decide what to have with them. Had forgotten I'd ordered them!

Dribbles Looks at butter dish...

AnonymousBird · 25/03/2011 18:36

Well, I did wonder about "just" butter, but figured I should have something else on the plate too....

I only buy them about 3 times each spring, can't justify the cost really, but oh such a treat!!!

Ooh lovely! How have I not seen these?

I will demand ask that DH source some ready for when I get home from hospital next week Grin

Butter, salt and black pepper are the only other things that need to be on the plate. Yum, yum, yum.

Driftwood999 · 27/03/2011 19:40

Well? What did you have with them? Smile Share!

boosmummie · 27/03/2011 22:01

I am SOOOOO jealous. Can't get them here. Over in two weeks and will be buying several kilos to bring back and eat nothing but in any which way.

My favourite way is steamed with mint and then half a pound a small knob of butter and malden salt. Bahhhhhhhh I want them NOW.

FunnysInTheGarden · 27/03/2011 22:08

yum, what with living in Jersey we have had them twice this weekend Smile But was a bit miffed that Waitrose had the first ones, so had to shop there to get them rather than the local farm shop. At the mo Jersey is covered in plastic, which is what they use to keep the potatoes warm until they are ready to dig. Tis quite beautiful. I LOVE Jersey Royals season

Funnys how about a two week house swap this time of year EVERY year for life!!! My ex mother in law lived in Jersey until a couple of years ago and while we were not exactly chummy, a trip to see her at Easter was always part of my planning so I could pig eat several of the little gems. Oh I miss them SO much.

AnonymousBird · 28/03/2011 09:38

Had them with masses of butter and salt and pepper alongside my roast chicken.. DS was Shock that I had only done half quantity of roasties, but DD stuffed them down (the ones I didn't get first of course!)

Very very nice.

Rare treat though at these prices, sadly!
