Have purchased one and was wondering if it's ok to use the Maldons salt I use for cooking or if I needed to buy a different one?

Anything that's got big enough crystals for grinding. I have used Maldon sea salt in mine but it's more flakes so it doesn't really need grinding.

You can buy Saxo rock salt crystals which specifically say they're for mills, but the Maldon will be fine.

Thanks I've added Saxo to the shopping list Smile

Be very careful you must use dry salt as Maldon is wet and this is why the mechanism gets ruined. I have a box from Tidmans (sainbo/waitrose). Box must always say for grinders.
