I want to use the magimix! Would it work? does anyone have a fish pie recipe that they could share?

Because a fish pie is pretty much cooked already (and the fish takes no time at all), sliced raw potatoes might take too long to cook on top. Dry fish and raw spuds... yuk. However, if you boil your potatoes until they're almost done before slicing you might have everything ready at the same time.

My fish pie tends to be a combination of chunky white fish pieces, salmon pieces and smoked haddock, covered in a seasoned white sauce with parsley. Occasionally mix sweet potato and regular potato in the mash to make the topping more interested.... sprinkle of nutmeg.

Hmmm, so magimix might have to wait a bit or I could make dauphinois to go with something else I suppose.

How about a variation on a Lancashire HotPot? That's usually a casserole of lamb and vegetables, topped with sliced potato and then covered and slowly baked, taking the top off at the end to crisp up the spuds.

Agree with Chill re hot pot. Then you can do the onions with your magimix too. I use a Nigel Hawarth recipe for mine and it's the dogs (although no veg other that onions & pots). Serve it with a hm pickled red cabbage - another excuse for the magimix!

Yes, you can do it

Slice your spider thin, then either microwave or boil til tender

In a. dish chuck in cod or haddock or both, with a tub of creme fraiche, a bag of spinach, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt pepper, hand full of cheese grated and a bit of milk, plus thinly sliced onions

Tip into dish, layer potato. on top, sprinkle wirh more cheese, bake for half hour... delicious!
