Cooked Ham (gammon?) recipe please

I've ordered a salted ham for tomorrow. My Mum always makes one around Christmas but I haven't. I thought I would follow this recipe but wanted to know a) if it sounds any good and b) if anyone had a trusted alternate.

I always cook ours in ginger beer or full-fat coke. That said, though, I always use unsmoked for this. So I should probably hush Grin

Thank you everyone! The gammon ended up going into the freezer to be defrosted for this weekend instead.

Debating trying cooking in coke but scared!

beijin, I haven't tried it yet, but I've read many say that Nigella's gammon in coke turns out brilliant.
