Not From Concerntrate

Random question....

Is it really worth it to pay extra for juice, to have it not from concerntrate?

I am happy to pay extra if it's genuinely healthier but I'm not sure it is.

Not from concentrate should mean freshly squeezed from real fruit. On a scale of good nutrition you'd expect you're own freshly squeezed juice to be 100%. And assuming that 'not from concentrate' juice hasn't been hanging about too long, that's going to be reasonably good. Concentrated juices have often been shipped around in tankers before reaching the final destination... and they're cheaper because it costs less to ship juice than to ship whole fruit which takes up a lot more room. Nutritionally, I think you'd find they add back some of the vitamins lost.

I tend to buy things on how they taste... If the not from concentrate version tastes better, it's worth the extra cash. Alternatively, to be sure of maximum nutrition, invest in a juicer and lots of fruit!!!

I have a juicer and it's definately best. I can feel it. lol. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being mislead by nice packaging

for "from concentrate" juice they dont ship the whole fruit!
the juice it at source and then remove the water part of the juice... then they ship that concentrated stuff. at the juice factory they add the same amount of water that they extracted.

id imagine not from concentrate must be slightly better, but both good choices, far better than coke!

t think not from concentrate tastes nicer and more like the fruit its from...

but nothing come close to juice you juice yourself and drink immediately!

I understand the differences in how they are made, I just didn't know if the nutritional value was better enough to make it worth the extra money IYKWIM.
