Please help.

I'm not a very good cook. I can't drive either so I have to lug back all the ingredients. I currently have nothing in.

I do have a buggy that I can use to transport some of the stuff.

Any ideas?

Many tia

Pasta bake? Pasta, tomatoey sauce, ham or tuna or chargrilled veg, cheddar and/or mozzarella cheese.

Fajitas with salad, nachos, dips and potato wedges. Quick, easy, everyone can help themselves.

Nigella Chorizo Cicken.

we had it last night and it was delicious. super super simple to make and the ingredients shouldn't be too heavy.

ooooooh. Don't happen to have a recipe do you?

Are the ingredients available in small chain local supermarkets?

rice, chilli, sour cream and some kind of cabbage based salad. Pudding ice cream home made short bread biscuits and fruit compote made from tinned or frozen berries.

You could get all you need for a lasagne or spaghetti bolognaise from a local / most corner shops. Can spruce it up with home-made garlic bread and a nice salad?

TheMaleyDail · 15/03/2011 10:13

oh, loving these ideas.

Like the biscuit desert and possibly a tray-bake thing then there is no timing or faff!

jacket potatoes and loads of toppings - beans, cheese, tuna, coleslaw, leftover bolognaise etc with a big salad

easy :)

Nigellas Salmon yellow thai curry - delicious, simple and easy.
Another good one is Jamies Chicken legs with tomatoes and cannelini beans.....a onepot dish that is delicious and looks like you may have spent some time doing it when in reality you just shoved it in the oven. If you want either recipe PM me and i will send to you

Lasagne?
Chilli Con Carne?

Pasta is always a quick and easy way to cook for lots of people. Agree with tray baked stuff, or anything in a big pot.

Have a look on bbc recipes sites. They are great and you can search for quick or easy or pasta recipes.

Most simple things can be bought from a small supermarket - if not, substitute things!

I gotta cook for a Lancashire man of an older generation who is an excellent cook but does like his traditional stuff.

So I don't think pasta type stuff will be that great (although I LOVE pasta myself).

I'd appreciate the chicken legs thingy recipe though.

heres the jamie recipe.....i add both the beans and the potatoes and then serve with salad and crusty bread. I also like to leave some seeds in my chilli as a bit of extra heat but doesnt make it hot

Thank you. I'm really scared of trying something new because I'm a rubbish cook, but for this emergency I'm doing sausage, onions and and mash with a honey and mustard gravey.

But thank you so much for those other ideas. I'll definately try the all out when I don't have guests that might not appreciate my mistakes.
