Did anyone try it, divine. Was it down to using syrup/melted butter and plain flour make it special?

Anyone shed some light on how using 250g plain flour with 250g strong flour works?

I usually do an overnight sponge but my efforts have been poor recently, little taste and poor rising. Thought I'd go back to simple bread making.

No, but I might. I've been making a fab overnight soaker and biga 100% wholemeal sandwich loaf lately - this one, but I'll have a go at the Roux one too. I wonder if the plain flour softens the crumb a bit - the butter certainly will.

Hi Habbibu - I will try yr recipe later. I'm still researching how bread works with plain flour. The crumb was deffinately very soft.
