What are the best food colourings?

Lookin for nice bright ones, and also black food colouring.

Planning on making this cake for DS1's birthdayand wanted the tiles to really stand out.

There are some paste colours which are good - Lakeland sell them and a tiny pot lasts ages.

Last time I went to Lakeland they never sold food colourings. Might try there again, thanks.

Hobbycraft also sell paste colourings. Wilton, sugarflair or squires kitchen are all brands that have been mentioned on here.

Hm, looks like they've stopped doing them. The ones they had (which were good) are from SugarFlair. You can order some here. They are not the cheapest, but give good strong colours and you only need a tiny bit each time.
